Telematics platforms are very good at telling you that something happened and very bad at telling you whether it matters. The result is alert fatigue, and alert fatigue is how a real fault gets ignored.
Triage codes into three buckets: stop-now, service-soon, and log-only. Stop-now covers oil pressure, coolant temperature, brake system and aftertreatment shutdown timers. Service-soon covers most emissions and sensor faults.
Log-only is the biggest bucket and the one that causes the trouble, because it is full of momentary voltage and communication codes that clear themselves.
Set the thresholds once, per engine family, and review them quarterly. A code list that nobody reads is worse than no code list at all.
